How to start a Blog
Choose a Domain Name
This can coincide with any other social media travel accounts you have or maybe even your name. It doesn’t have to be overly unique, but something regarding you or travel would suffice. Maybe even a mix of both.
We chose to get a custom domain which makes it look a lot more professional to viewers. Dependant on the name, they can be really cheap and is a yearly payment, or sometimes even over 3 years.
Choose a Host
Now, this is a tricky part. There are a lot of hosts to choose from but it’s important to choose one that works with WordPress. They are user-friendly and it’s the perfect place for beginners to start and learn how all this works. When you are starting, it is best to start on a simple package as you won’t be needing to pay much as you are just starting out.
Decide your niche
Whether you are looking to go into travel writing or another topic, make sure to make it more niche as there must be thousands of travel bloggers out there. But if you are looking to travel with a pet for instance, there will be a lot less bloggers and could give you an advantage and different perspective.
Basic SEO Research
SEO means Search Engine Optimisation and is a great way to have your blogs seen online. Some simple research will help you get some views and put you in a good position to grow your blog in the coming months.
